DErby Dementia choir

Welcome to Our Dementia-Friendly Choir

Launched in Autumn 2025, our choir brings together people living with dementia, their families, friends, and carers through the joy of singing.

Music has a unique ability to unlock memories, spark conversation, and create meaningful moments of connection. Our weekly sessions offer a warm, welcoming environment where everyone can take part, regardless of musical experience or ability.

Each session combines familiar songs, uplifting melodies, and plenty of laughter, helping to build confidence, reduce isolation, and promote wellbeing. Participants often tell us that singing helps them feel more connected, more energised, and more like themselves.

The choir is about much more than music. It is a place to make friends, share experiences, and enjoy being part of a supportive community. Carers and family members are encouraged to join in, creating opportunities for shared enjoyment and positive memories together.

Whether you love to sing, enjoy listening to music, or are simply looking for a friendly and inclusive activity, you will be assured of a warm welcome.

Come and discover the power of singing to bring people together, celebrate individuality, and create moments of joy.

We meet most Thursdays (please check with us before attending) at St Peter’s Church in Littleover, Derby.

If you would like to donate to help us with the costs of the project then please click below. Every donation, no matter the size, helps us provide welcoming singing sessions where people living with dementia and their loved ones can share music, friendship, and meaningful moments together.
