Why do I need to report song usage?

Reporting ensures that songwriters and publishers are paid fairly when their music is used in schools.

•           The Department for Education covers the cost of the CCLI licence (songs in assemblies) and the PMLL licence (printing, photocopying & digital display of sheet music) for all state schools in England.

•           For concerts and performances (e.g. to parents or the wider school community), schools must report usage under their own PRS & PPL licences (not covered by the DfE).

•           Independent schools, UK schools outside England, and international schools must ensure they hold the correct licences.
